Dr. Paul Copeland isn't the type of Psychiatrist who listens or forgives. Made an appt for my child which I had accidentally missed... easily understandable in my situation. Easily understandable, because people are only human. Ever missed an important appt? I have. My life is in shambles, but I'm doing everything to pick up the pieces. I am here to warn anyone away from Dr. Copeland. DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR CHILD. He has a hard and fast rule of dumping patients that forget their appts. No exceptions!! And when I say no exceptions, I mean he will not even deal with you. Isn't that sorta weird? I think it's very strange. The office can help with patients appts by calling to remind them, sending an email or other such measures. But nooooo... they're actually looking for reasons to cut patients. Why? It's all about money. MONEY. They don't get any for a missed appt. Since he is dealing with the mentally ill, I wouldn't advise such an outright bully to care for my child. Acts like he's the last child psychiatrist on the face of the earth. Please. You think I'm putting my baby in the same room with that kind of weirdness? OH, HELL NO. This is not someone with the type of skills required to be in the same room with children. Makes me sick to think we'd have any connection to such a cold monster... life isn't so black and white but his world appears. To. Be. Perfect. No room for messy people like my family. Looks like my precious baby dodged a bullet here. Don't believe me & think I'm just a whining mom throwing a tantrum? Ok. Go find out for yourself - but don't say you weren't forewarned. This dude is weird weird weird.

I have called SEVERAL times and left messages to make an appointment. I have never received a live person or a phone call back! If you are not accepting new patients or a type of an insurance, all it takes is a 20 second phone call to inform the person when they left their phone number CLEARLY! I called to make an appointment because I wanted help! If that's how this place conducts business, maybe it's a good thing I haven't receive a phone call back-thanks

Having spent a good portion of my late teens and young adult life in counselling and therapy, I'd like to think I can provide a fair review of an office like Healing Pathways. I've been a patient there for about six months and have been incredibly happy with the service.Long time residents of the Sacramento area may recognize the building as the old West Sacramento City Hall. With the new building going up on Jefferson, the location is now full of medical offices. In addition to Healing Pathways, there's a blood draw clinic, an optometrist, a dentist or two, and quite a few other businesses.Healing Pathways offices are on the second floor (there is an elevator for disabled access). The lobby is bright and inviting (while slightly cramped), with plenty of reading material and a kids area complete with dvds (lots of Disney. My two year old loves it.) The administration staff is always welcoming and - unlike many other offices I've been to - seem to really care about every patient that walks through the door. The doctor I've seen has been incredibly open, not only with standard medical information (which getting from some doctors can be like pulling teeth) but also with suggestions on how to better my treatment. Some of the different treatments that I've seen offered are Cognitive Therapy, Family counselling, and alternative medicines. I've not been able to access the yoga classes yet, but I've peeked in the rooms and they're beautiful.I can't give a full five stars to Healing Pathways simply because I've only experienced a small sliver of the services they provide; however, if you want to tack on an extra 1/2 star to my review, I wouldn't be insulted at all.
