Great Doctor. Terrible front desk/insurance. I was looking for a new dentist. I stopped in on Monday to ask if they accept my insurance. I had my insurance information ready to show. The lady at the desk was in a call. I waited asked her about my insurance. She replied with insurance information that they accept using insurance terms. I explained that insurance lingo is very confusing to patients. She just went to book my appointment for Thursday. Filled everything out and asked again about my Medicare card that was given back. I stated. You dont need that? I have dental coverage thru them and Anthem. No response. Everyone was very nice almost an hour of talking with the Dr before the cleaning started. About an hour and a half in. I hear the Woman at the desk say. Ohhh! His insurance is Medi-Cal ( which is printed on the front of the card) he cant come to our office. Then hung up. I wasnt out of the chair for 5 minutes. Little light headed from the cleaning. I had to ask her several times to please give me a minute. Im disabled, cant see with out my glasses and epileptic. She continued to just demand payment of over $300. Im now shaking. I said why wasnt my insurance company checked prior to any work done? The Dr came immediately out and reduced the cost. I still had no cash or debit cards only my Apple Pay they dont accept. I explained that Im a stylist, I would never not disclose a cost to my clients. Why wasnt my insurance checked prior to booking an appointment or start any work? I continued to be degraded by her saying. He already took off $200. I replied Im not looking for a discount. I have insurance. Its your job to check my coverage with your office. Not mine. I asked several time. Only to have her reply. You must be thinking about someone else. Thats when I walked out. I understand now why the office was empty. They clearly will take your money any way they can and make you feel terrible as if youre the irresponsible person. No sorry. Dont patronise me. Too bad excellent Dr. Terrible front desk. Something ever hairdresser knows can ruin your business!
