Comerica Bank issues Direct Express debit cards for the Social Security Administration. I've had the unfortunate experience of trying to deal with a glitch in their system. Within a week of my web-access breaking (password and password-reset failed), I called in, and after entering long strings of numbers several times, finally got to a human being, who promised that somebody would call me back. Sadly, nobody did. After a month of no response, I called back, again going through an extended gauntlet to talk with a human, and was again assured that the glitch would be addressed, this time by a manager. No such luck. They are like a black hole sucking communications into oblivion. Again, after six months, I tried again, and this time, "the call volume is high" and I get disconnected. Twice I go through this. This is negligent customer relations of stupendous magnitude. They get two stars because it was easy to reach my local branch agent and get it passed up the chain of Comerica management where customer service does get attention.
