ARS/Rescue Rooter Plumbing Sewer Drains

Called Rescue Rooter Ventura to come out to do a video inspection of my shower drain and to snake the drain if the video inspection showed it was necessary. I was very specific with the dispatcher that the job was video inspection followed by a drain cleaning if the video demonstrated it was necessary. They would not quote a price over the phone but were able to come out within two hours and would quote me aprice after they saw the job, which sounded reasonable and fit into our tight schedule. When the plumber arrived he quoted me a price for the video inspection 120 dollars more then the next lowest competitor. I told him that I had received quotes at least 120 dollars cheaper and if they could match that quote we could proceed. after talking to the office they agreed to conduct the video inspection for the $ 250 the next lowest quote but also wanted to quote me for the drain cleaning now in case the camera revealed that drain cleaning was necessary. the quote including the drain cleaning was for $417 which meant that the drain cleaning. if necessary, would be $167 which was between 40 and 80 dollars more expensive than their competitors. I agreed to accept the quote because they were able to perform the work that day. After signing the quote the plumber informed me that he didn''t have the camera but he would clean the drain now and the truck and plumber with the camera would arrive in approximately 30 minutes. I told the plumber that I was very clear with the dispatcher and him that i wanted the camera first to determine if it was necessary to clean the drain at all and that was the discussion we just had while working out the quote. The plumber then said to me that "He didn't talk to me on the phone and not to be a smart ass with him.." I was shocked at his response and decided to use Roto Rooter instead. When i called Roto Rooter they were able to quote me a range of prices over the phone and were able to get a plumber with a camera out to the house in an hour. They video'd the drain while I watched with the plumber explaining items he encountered in the drain along the way. The drain was pretty clean but would benefit from a cleaning, which wee did. The plumber that cleans the drain showed up within an hour after the video inspection was complete. The cost of both video and cleaning was 60 dollars cheaper than Rescue Rooter both plumbers were respectful, thorough and professional taking time to explain issues they quoted me a price range and charged the low end of that range and did not try up sell me. They arrived when they said brought the equipment that was requested and did not try to get me to do work that wasn't necessary. Stick with the honest professionals.
