The food was okay, not stellar. The fries that came with my dish were not fried enough, leaving some of the potates half-raw. The service was ok, but not as kid friendly as other places and they forgot the wine we ordered. The ambiance is really nice and it looks real 'classy', but food-wise it's rather pricy for what it is.

My wife and I visited 71 Palm for the first time on Valentine's Day. The service was excellent and the ambiance is fabulous. The prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day was obviously limited but also very pricey for what was served. We both started with the Warm Spinach Salad which was tasty but small. The main course we chose was described as an Aged New York Steak w/ Port & Caramelized Shallot Reduction. Unfortunately the sauce drowned out the flavor of the steak. Again, small portions. Finally, there was one dessert listed on the menu which was chocolate. My wife is allergic to chocolate so we asked if something else could be substituted. They were kind enough to bring a bowl of sorbet and fruit. Overall, the experience was romantic and unique but pricey. I would like to try the restaurant again with the normal menu.

Really great food, and a nice owner who let us in even 10 minutes after they closed.
