Ocean Seven Roofing

Ocean Seven Roofing was very professional from our initial meeting to scope the project, through the bidding process and the final installation of our roof and gutters. The crew on-site was excellent. They were careful with our property, including our plantings around the house, to be sure not to damage anything while they were working on the roof. Compared to other companies that I've watched replace roofs in our neighborhood, they took the time to do the job right. They were the most skilled in my opinion. We would employ them once more except a 2nd thought.

Jimmy was extremely responsive and professional. I loved that we could track the progress from estimate/contract acceptance/work completion all online with his system. It was so easy. He even posted pictures of the work while it was going on - so we could see what was damaged and replaced. Thank you Ocean Seven Roofing!!

Matt was a great for this project. He came out right away, and was consultative in his approach. He walked me through the failures in my current roof, and even did a quick repair to stop the leak that was the reason for my initial call. They had the historic roof off and the new roof on inside a day, and the new gutters went up the subsequent day. Looks great!!

Received very prompt response. Estimate was adhered to. Very satisfied with quality and overall appearance of roof. Crew was hardworking prompt. Area left as good as found. Would definitely recommend Ocean Seven Roofing.

I can see that the most recent review before mine was from 9/10/15. To anyone out there needing roof repair or estimates for roofing needs, AVOID OCEAN SEVEN ROOFING if it pops up on your search engine! Called Ocean 7 Roofing around 3:30 pm, 1/22/17 (Sunday), it was Ron (CEO & owner of the establishment) who answered the phone. We shared the problem with him: one of our units had a leak going into their water heater which ended up destroying the thermostat & the water heater itself; we needed a roofer to come out & assess the issue, fix it, so that we could have a plumber put a replacement water heater the next day. He said that "the charge to come out & FIX the problem is $450", which my husband & I thought was steep, & told Ron what we thought (on speaker). Ron responded that he doesn't work for free, so with huge reservations (because we wanted to make sure our tenants were taken care of & would have hot water the next day) we allowed him to dispatch himself, at which point he was asking for a credit card to charge before he left his office, & we told him that my husband would provide it to him in person AFTER he did the job. My husband met Ron at the apartment building at approximately 5:40 pm. My husband held the ladder up for Ron as he got up to the roof. The problem with the leak was NOT with the roof, but a broken vent exhaust. Ron took pictures of the vent to take to the Home Depot that was about a mile and a half away. He returned with a small, square, malleable sheet metal since he could not find the proper vent available. He bent the piece in half, creating a makeshift cover over the vent. Ron said that this was a temporary fix, & to return & properly fix the problem he would charge ANOTHER $150 plus the materials(?!!!). Ron spent about 45 minutes from the moment he arrived, went to Home Depot, put the improper makeshift vent, my husband asking him whether he would discount the $450 since he didn't actually fix the problem (& Ron telling him that it was $450, PLUS a 3% credit card fee, & if he were to come back he would charge another $150 to properly fix the vent, my husband did not want to argue with Ron) & ran my husband's credit card. In essence, Ron charged us $10+ per minute of his time, to confirm that the problem was NOT WITH OUR ROOF, but an old vent that needed replacing. 1/23/17, after seeing a picture via text of the makeshift vent that Ron installed, & him insisting we owed 3% on top of the $450 he was charging, I addressed him through email. I told him that if his temporary fix did not work when the rains come again it would destroy the replacement water heater & void the warranty, & oh, by the way, you are NOT charging me another penny after $450, & I would suggest that you discount the $450 the amount you want to charge ($150) to come back & properly fix the problem. He reiterated that he does not work for free & for us to go ahead & hire someone else to finish the job, to which I replied that HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY DO THE JOB, & if the temporary fix he did causes damage to the replacement water heater, he would be hearing from me. His rep, Cindy, replied saying that they would credit my card the 3% they wanted to charge, but made no mention of discounting the $450.
