Affiliated Pathologist Medical Group

I received a bill in the mail with no description or date of service on it. I called the number on the bill and they would not give me any information until I provided the account number from the bill I received in the mail. Then they wanted my name, address, telephone number and when they asked for my birthday I became nervous they were a scam and told them I was uncomfortable with providing all of this information blindly. I hung up and called my health insurance customer service to see if they could find the bill amount or Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group in my processed claims, which they could not, and could not cross reference a date of service because their billing department would not provide me any information without me providing all of my identifying information blindly. My insurance provider agreed with me that it sounds like phishing scam. I have no intention on providing them with anymore of my information without confirming their legitimacy. I suppose my next step is better business bureau and seeing if they can provide me with a path to verify this bill without putting my identity at risk. I just dont understand why they cant provide me with information based off their account number provided on the bill. ** update two weeks ago I received a statement in the mail with the dates and description of services rendered and gladly paid in full.

Getting the payment past due notice without any detailed, statement. All my bills have been gone through and paid by self and insurance. Service I used from Providence or Palos Verdes Medical Group for COVID test, which was mandatory for school and work, should have been covered by insurance.

I had blood work done in the past and had never had any problems with the test being covered by my insurance. Then I had the exact same test done a few months ago and somehow get this additional charge from Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group. No explanation whatsoever why they are not billing my insurer. I call the number on the statement, the person on the other end of the line relates that she sees my insurance is Healthnet and that I can disregard the bill. Then I receive another statement a month later showing that the bill is still outstanding. There is an option to update my insurance information online. I go to that website and then get a message stating that the biller doesn't use this service. This is nothing short of a money grab from a sham group billing people unnecessarily, especially when they related that they have my insurance information.

Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group is one of the best managed and staffed Pathology Groups I have worked with. The pathologists are exceptional - highly trained and highly focused on patient care. The management team works hard for both the staff and the patients. Their dedication and work ethic are second to none. It's a pleasure to engage with each and every one of them.
