May 2020 Called out for water detection of leak when water company bill came. Quick response and then everything went down hill. Without looking around exterior or checking the water meter owner says it's a slab leak. So a leak detector that Redhat uses. Without any equipment and even a 40gal aquarium was running, X marks the spot inside my home. I'm told thankfully they caught it. I was told to keep water off and they will be back in the AM. So the worker shows up, he has to cut the new carpet that was newly installed. So now I had to pay $295 to leak detector RH said they would take that off my bill. It had gone from $800 when we had our first meet. Now it will be $1200 plus $295 (water detect handed me 30 back for cash) Now we are at 2.5 hrs in, a 6'x5'x 6'deep whole in by entryway AND NO LEAK. Owner called back out to my home water detect guy shows up and he walks around exterior to find an above ground irrigation line to a system not working. So now detect guy gives me back $100 and an apology and leaves. They tell me it's a slab leak on the outside dog run. RH says it's the same price $1200. They ask me for extension cord for a jackhammer, not needed because it could have been cut and capped in 15 mins. The plumber left for 1.3hrs came back with 14"pvc and replaced the line leaking. No need too, and no info as to any options. Now RH owner shows up and was upset that he lost money on this job, when I said detect guy gave me back 100. RH says "he needs to give me money". So now the hole in the living room is filled in, I had to ask the neighbor for water when RH said they need to mix cement. Now I'm looking at a job that two other companies said it would be a 1hr charge. Red Hat looked me in the face and said he was still charging 1200. But the worker nicked my brand new Heavy duty ext cord, cut the carpet in the house which had to be professionally reglued and kicked. All of this without an apology by Red Hat and all at the beginnings of covid lock down. Since at the end I gave $700 to RH and $165 to detector. $55 for ext cord replace and $85 to carpet Co and all of this sent via phone. As a senior and working to get my wateerr bill corrected with the 1k charges. I asked twice for written covid protocol and paper bill I was told via text not to contact them or its harrasment. Red hat plumbing came out, response time was great, was able to take care of situation, will recommend to friends and family.
