Kumon Math and Reading Center of SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - WESTBOROUGH

This is my son's first time with Kumon and he likes it so far. The homework is very organized and user friendly. The location is convenient and staff members are nice and helpful.

My son is almost 13 years old. He's been going to this center since he was 5 years old (Kindergarten). He is now a upcoming 7th grader, who will be going into 8th grade math this coming academic year. My daughter is a upcoming 3rd grader that is already doing multiplication when she was in 2nd grade. Now, I have been working with Peter and Irene for years now. So whatever these negative reviews say, it's clearly not based on the evidence. Irene is kind, loving, flexible and extremely patient. She's the heart of this center where many families have flocked for years for her guidance and assistance. My kids would not be where they are if it was for this particular Kumon center. I'm grateful for them.Now, you may say, that's just your kids only. Nope. I have had several friends gone here and their parents have said their kid has jumped up a level in Math, especially. Again, these negative reviews truly aren't based on evidence.

Before enrolled my daughter here I did a ton of research on tutoring programs, both private tutoring as well as other institutes that offer the same programs.We decided to take the jump and check the place out and assess our daughter with the programs Kumon has to offer. Upon concluding the tour, we sat down with the administrator and got on the same page on what we wanted to see our daughter improve on and signed up. She has been enrolled with Kumon for about 5 months and not only has me and her father notice a drastic improvement in both her math and reading confidence but her teacher at her school also observed that she has improved in her confidence on reading on her own as well writing on her own. Since enrolling her in the math and reading program she has advanced twice in the reading and once in the math.The location of this Kumon can be tough on parking depending on what time you drop your child off for their course work. The parking lot gets full pretty quick and people like to park their cars in the middle and sit in there. But overall the location is pretty good, it is right off the 280 HW and it is very convenient since we take her there right after she gets out of school on the weekdays. The plaza the location is at offers a ton of areas where you can eat as you wait and if you don't want to do that they offer a seating area that I noticed can fill up early on in the day and carry out. If you do decide to sit in the waiting area there's a glass where you can watch the children work and they also offer free Wifi so you can get your own personal work done on a laptop.Some issues I wanted to address was the payment, my daughter went from the private 3:1 to the independent studies in her math pretty quickly and it took about 2 or 3 months for them to notice and when I attempted to speak to them before my daughter started her course work they were preoccupied. But we eventually got a refund into the account and an email.Other than that I am satisfied with the program and how my daughter was able to embrace the program and adapt to it as well as enjoy it and progressively improve in her confidence and performance both at home and at school.
