I get a little sad sometimes writing reviews that fly in the face of the Yelpy consensus, but this is probably the first time I've felt sad writing a review knowing the fate of the business is already sealed. It was while I was ordering at Los Morales Taco Shop that I noticed the sign saying they'd be closing their doors at the end of the month after two years, and after a quick dinner I have to conclude that they simply couldn't keep up with the dominant force and neighborhood establishment that is nearby Rudy's. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Los Morales is a simple shop tacked onto a Mexican Grocery Store, but they do just fine on the service front as a taco shop. It's nothing fancy, but it's comfortable and, if I do say so myself, the lighting is out of this world for food pics. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $2.25 for street tacos and $3.00 for three potato taquitos. Good pricing across the board. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The tacos at Los Morales were good, but I'd be lying if I said they were on par with nearby Rudy's. It came down to the quality of the meats, and Rudy's simple has the meats down. The potato taquitos were a nice touch, but needed quite a bit of salsa to flavor them up. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Los Morales is good, but they simply can't hang. No Star.
