DBT has helped not only our daughter, but our entire family to more effectively regulate our emotions and make effective choices in our often stressful and complicated adult lives. Skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal skill, and emotional regulation are the tools every person needs to handle life and they are NOT skills we can learn from our sometimes dysfunctional family units. Years of self-help books, parenting classes and books, private weekly CBT, as well as antidepressant prescriptions, NEVER had the quantifiable and profound effect of this therapeutic intervention.

This place is really great! Super helpful therapists and skills teachers. It has really helped me out, and I enjoy going weekly. Patty and Bridget and Lynn are absolutely amazing!

If anyone needs a therapist, I HIGHLY recommend Lynn Kawabe at the DBT center. She literally changed my life. She's one of those people that you meet who just radiates joy and happiness because you can tell they have found their passion and are doing what they love. Like the ones that you meet and think, they were born to do this! She's so genuine, kind, and worth every damn penny. I can't promote her or thank her enough. Consultations are free- so go see for yourself. This place is wonderful and so is everyone I've encountered here.

DBT: the therapy that works. Period.DBT Is the only research-proven treatment for mood disorders that does not use medications. Whether you are already on meds for your mood disorder or not, it will help you conquer your dysregulated emotions. I went through the program at the Choices clinic and it turned around my bipolar II induced mood swings, crying and rages in the first week. It took 6 months to learn to regulate my own emotions but now those skills go with me and work better than any cocktail of mood "stabilizers" did. These skills should be taught in every school.Thank you Lynn Kawabe ( brilliant therapist) and Patty Geiselman (fearless director) for all you've done for me and other clients by spreading emotional wisdom!

I have been attending DBT group at Choices for a little over a year, and it has made all the difference. The staff is so committed to helping clients learn and apply DBT to their lives. I've gone through two "rounds" of DBT group (overviewing each set of skills twice), and so often, the DBT skills of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance come up as second nature in my day to day. My relationships have changed, the daily stomach cramps (from anxiety! I thought I was gluten intolerant!) have gone away. This center is really special, and what sets them apart, for me, is that they often attend DBT trainings and conferences, and they meet as a team regularly to work on mindfulness and the skills themselves. They really walk their talk. I've been lucky enough to participate in two different groups, and work with a therapist for individual sessions. I recommend Patty, Bridget, Lynn, Taniya, Maria, and Cat with confidence.
