If anything... Jose is one of the top instructors in the Bay Area. And very skillful in explaining the details (especially the lead part) of the pattern in private classes. Best - is learning it in private classes.

Dancing with JAS Dance Academy has been one of the most fullfilling experiences in my life. Thank You to Jose & his staff of instructors for being so patient and kind in helping me progress as a dancer. Jose has always been supportive, patient, and understanding when trying to help people learn to dance. Without that patience, encouraging, and caring attitude, I wouldn't be where I am today. Today, I've been to several MAJOR dance festivals AND PERFORMED! Up until then, I thought my dreams of performing were just pipedreams. Thank You Jose, Jeff, Steph, Yurika, Jen, Annette, Bruce & all the wonderful leads & follows of the various JAS Dance Academy teams/students for helping me get there. I've seen many instructors & teams and I'm glad I have the opportunity to CONTINUE to LEARN & GROW as a dancer with JAS Dance Academy!! Jose has always been honest in evaluating my skills and spotting what needs work & why & explaining HOW to do better. I know I'll only get better with continued instruction & practice with him & his staff. No dance instructor or company is perfect, & everyone has human failings, but what I appreciate most is Jose's sincerity, honesty, supportiveness, & welcoming nature. He's done a lot to help his students & myself feel like a part of a family and I look forward to MORE FAMILY OUTINGS! Wish I could join y'all on the Paris festival & hit the stage w/ya there. Would be awesome!! TY Jose!! Mil Mil Gracias!! I highly recommend Jose & JAS Dance Academy. Just be prepared to work & accept honest evaluations & feedback. It'll pay off & whether U want to dance socially, recreationally, or onstage, he'll help U get there. Have the heart & passion to work & commit, & he'll support you!

The worst experience in my dance life. He skipped teaching ladies footwork and styling. We deciphered everything from videos. He also lacked formation and training discipline. He didn't know the names of the moves, he didn't instruct proper warm ups, and he never started the practice on time. He even scheduled multiple classes at the same time. He was not trustworthy. He listed non-existing performance schedules, insisted that we MUST buy team swag, cancelled confirmed shows. I have been in many teams, I never experienced such unprofessional approach.
