Melanie is the bomb! She is a life coach who is trained in multiple modalities and specializes in relationship counseling. I have been so impressed by both her in-depth insights/expertise around issues and challenges and the comprehensive way that she approaches her sessions. Melanie is an amazing coach and mentor. Here is a little backstory… I was diagnosed with Neurological Lyme disease in 2016 after being misdiagnosed for many, many years. I was in pain; mentally, physically and financially. I was experiencing brain swelling which led to blurry vision, seizures, mood swings like a tilt-a-whirl and an inability to perform the simplest of tasks. I was depressed, angry and riddled with anxiety. After undergoing a very aggressive and painful treatment plan with little improvement I decided to focus on my healing from the inside. I became somewhat convinced that I had done all I could in every other area but I had yet to tackle the spirituality aspect. I have spent my life seeing therapists but felt stuck in my story. I wasn’t making the progress to healing my body so desperately needed. With having just moved to Santa Cruz I didn’t know anyone. I scoured the internet for coaches not because I felt like I needed a life coach, although in hindsight I did but my ego wouldn’t allow me to admit that, but because I needed something more than an expensive one hour convo about the same old stuff. I called Melanie and immediately felt at ease. She explained her philosophy and asked enough questions to ensure our meeting would be beneficial to both parties. After all, you can’t expect to vibe with everyone! Melanie has helped me in ways that countless years of counseling had not. She keeps me focused yet is open to being flexible based on my needs. She has helped me organize my priorities and identify my goals. She holds me accountable while being encouraging along the way. She doesn’t just sit there taking notes with a fake judgmental smile but instead is attentive, engaged, warm, and inviting. If you are looking for someone who isn’t just your typical couch therapist I would suggest giving her a call. She has helped me change my life forever….perhaps she can walk you through it too! Ps since meeting Melanie I have enrolled in College after being away for over 10 years! I am not only completing tasks that once felt impossible but I am acing exams.
