Kifer Deli Cafe

Excellent, no-frills bi-bim-bap. You get a decent portion of bi-bim-bop (choice of meat, several veggies and kimchi) over a bed of romaine lettuce. The lettuce is a nice addition, not typical in my experience. This place is no frills, not very expensive (~$9), and has quite a few other non-korean lunch options. Highly recommend for a cheap, quick, korean fix. Although we only went once on a recent visit to the area, uur friends work just down the street and eat here frequently, so we know it's consistently good and cheap.

I've been a client of Kifer Deli for 3 years now. I'm just fed up with the never ending renovation. I ordered a salad today and they literally put 1 paper thin slice of tomatoe and 2 slices of cucumber and about a tablespoon of shredded carrots. It was 95% lettuce. This is terrible. I complained and they told me that IS the portion. Also the quality of the serving has degraded so much it's gross sometimes. The place starts to look not very clean either. They definitely have a huge potential and they need to get it together. I've decided today to not come back. I'm also done with their waste practices. I ordered to go and they gave me a whole plastic container. They used to have silverware and hard washable plastic cups and now it's all disposables and styrofoam cups (the most earth unfriendly cup).

They have wonderful bi bim bowls and sandwiches.

I've been meaning to give this place a review. It's a good lunch (and simple breakfast) spot. It's a very straight-forward menu, in the middle of a sea of Santa Clara business parks. Run by a very nice family, Kifer has simple sandwiches and platters that are both filling and reasonably priced. It is in no way gourmet-quality food, not by a long shot. Basically, if you need a quick, cheap meal, try Kifer Deli.
