Several yeas ago I traveled to Lusaka, Zambia to work. While there I was able to observe water well repair training. The instructor was utilizing Lifewater Int. materials. The class taught repairs for deep well hand pumps. I was very impressed. The seminar was attended by 15-20 locals who together successfully pulled a water pump out of the ground, replaced some parts, and then reinstalled the pump all by hand. By the end of the course, the Locals had become the “expert” for their own village water pump. What I witnessed was an excellent program utilizing the concepts of sustainability and local responsibility for maintaining a clean drinking water system. I highly recommend Lifewater International teaching materials.

One thing I greatly appreciate about Lifewater International is the collection, processing, and evaluation of data from the field. Decisions are informed and made based on what is actually happening on the ground, not what people may think from headquarters. The approach to rural WASH development is holistic and is creating dignity and improved health among the beneficiaries. So thankful to be part of the team!
