I found this shop by accident. I'm glad I did ! I was in from out of town. I need to finish setting up my 1995 trek Multitrack 730 slight conversion to a gravel bike. I had upgraded the shifters, crankset and rear derailleur. I needed to finish the front derailleur and Cantilever brakes adjustment. If you are anything like me ? I just cringe at the idea of going to a bike shop today and having to deal with a kids that are half the age of some of my bike and have zero knowledge of how to fix them and are more focused on selling you a new bike. I flat out loath them. Dan the shop manager explained the deal to me. "Does a place like this really existed ?"My natural scepticism kicked in. I said I would return the next day at opening. That day and night being a torrential downpour. I opted for better weather so I could test the bike out right away. I have been riding bikes and tinkering with them for 50 years.. I love new bike, but have a special love for oldschool steel bikes from my youth and glory days. brought my bike in the next day at opening. Dan set me up with Richard. A gentleman around my age, that turned out to be great guy with an even better demeanor. We went to work figuring out and solving the problems. Talking with him about bikes and people from our time was a walk down memory lane. His knowledge/experience is invaluable. He/they are testament to what a bike shop used to, and should be. An hour later and we, I should say he was done. Richard kind of took over and put the polish on the work. I could have stayed there for hours. I would have loved to have talked and dug through the parts bins. I could have bike geeked out for days. I left all to soon with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Yes ! A plce like this really exists. I got back to the car to my waiting wife. She saw my face and asked what was wrong ? "Not a damn thing !"
