Absolute Auto Tech Auto Repair & Smog Check

Made some excuse about liability to refuse to use my sealed Costco synthetic oil, of which I have cases. Never had that issue with other mechanics. Imo, just an excuse to use to get the markup on their own product. I can understand parts that people bought online or from auto parts stores, but oil from Giant companies in sealed containers?? Never heard of any possible liability issue resulting from that.
