I have been taking lessons at Seven Oaks Farm for a little over a year now. I rode a bit as a child and then took a 15+ year hiatus. I was nervous to start riding again, but everyone here is so welcoming and supportive that the nerves quickly faded away. Pam, Sonia and Carrie are absolutely fantastic instructors. They each have an unparalleled eye for detail, knack for explaining things, professional mannerisms and a good sense of humor. The school horses are all happy, healthy and safe. Be prepared to work hard during lessons and you'll never get bored!

It is a pleasure to write a review for Seven Oaks Farm @ San Juan Bautista. I came to Seven Oaks because I wanted to learn dressage. I took lessons at the Portola Valley location but many staff members rotate through both facilities. My experience has been only positive. Seven Oaks excels in three dimensions. First, the school is well organized. Pam Miller (the head of the school) is very thoughtful about the dressage curriculum and matching you with the right horse. All the trainers are on the same page about your development and what it'll take to make you a better rider. Second, the atmosphere at the barn is lovely. The trainers want you to have a fun and safe learning experience. You get top notch instruction, but there's no expectation that you compete. Everyone is down to earth, which is a rarity in the equestrian world. Third, the horses are very well taken care of. You know you are supporting an organization that puts equine welfare first. I am grateful to be part of the Seven Oaks community and am a much better ride thanks to the guidance of their impeccable trainers.
