reat restaurant especially when you want to add a little French atmosphere to your dining. I usually get the escargot appetizer since it is excellent and I also like dipping the fresh bread in the herb butter sauce.

A shell of what was once a fantastic restaurant. I first dined at Emile's 25+ years ago, and it was bursting with people, ambience, flavors, you name it. It's location was always questionable (dark street on the edgy side of town); nonetheless, patrons flocked from other areas to eat here. I remember Emile himself visiting with customers for a few minutes at each table. He sold the place many years ago. A spur of the moment decision brought me back for dinner on a Friday night. I called first and the gentlemen who answered replied that he can fit us in. Well, no kidding he could fit us it...we were the only ones in the whole place. It was dark and musty, but we decided to stay (hesitantly). Long story short, food was good, but certainly not Swiss French cuisine. The place is borderline a dump The owner clearly has a struggling business and most likely wouldn't last must longer. So sad. Cross this one off the list.

As much as I missed the old Emile's I thought I would give it another try. Michael, our waiter, was wonderful. Very attentive and personable. Overall the food was very good. If you are looking for a quiet location where you can chat the night way with some wonderful food and service then I recommend Emile's.

I came here over the weekend on the recommendation of a friend of mine and as soon as I walked in I almost walked out.. The decor of this place leaves a bit to be desired, the carpet looked like it needed a little bit of love, and the silverware did not seem all that clean. But on the insistence of my friend I stayed and had the food there... and well I am extremely happy that I did stay because the food is amazing. I would recommend ordering from the prix fixe menu because it is a better bang for your buck. I had the French Onion Soup and the prawns, both of which were amazing, and the Filet of Beef Brochette was probably one of the best cuts of meat I have tasted in a long time; the meat was very tender and flavorful and the vegetables on the side were fantastic as well. Just for the food this place is definitely worth it, but don't judge it when you initially walk in as I was going to because you might miss out on one of the best meals of your life.
