This food is real and great. One of the best around, IMHO. Surprised there was lamb. Great presentation.
Didn't have a problem with service since there were only two other tables being served.
The decor conforms to conventional Chinese with Islamic fusion but then, that's not why you'd come here. :-P~

NO LONGER HALAL!! New owners are NOT Muslim. Sad to see a place we frequented every week lose the Muslim customer base.

The food is really good. My wife who likes spicy food, loved how they made the food spicy when asking for it. Unlike a lot of restaurants that just put red spicy sauce in the food, they actually cooked with green chili. Also, each item we order comes out delicious consistently and the taste variety among the items is excellent. We go here often to have a different taste than Ma's restaurant and Darda.

All the other reviews are right on, so just go read them. I just want to add a few things...
I grew up eating at this restaurant. For good reason too. It's so amazingly good. I prefer to call it by its Chinese name: Dong Lai Suen.
The Beef Hamburgers (xian bing, or shian bing) have been my favorite since I was about 6 years old. It's as awesome as ever.
The Green Onion Pancakes (cong you bing) are also unbeatable. Oh man... I want some now!
The Steamed Beef Dumplings (zheng jiao) are average. Not bursting with enough juice. That's okay, though, the other stuff makes up for it.

UPDATE: I've branched out a bit when I'm back in town and go here. Most of the lamb dishes hit the spot quite well. Them Northern Chinese know how to make their lamb taste good :-D

No longer Eastern House! New owners, no longer halaal. We are so sad to see it go the way of Fatima's in Cupertino. My family ate there almost weekly...but never again.
