It was a quick in-and-out for me at this place. I was in a hurry, so I just quickly selected literally the first item on the menu, the Yunnan House Special Rice Noodle Soup. It came out in minutes as a hot bowl of clear chicken broth, some boiled chicken meat and slightly overcooked vermicelli with a chive and bean sprouts garnish. It wasn't full of flavor but more on the subtle side, similar to Chiu-Chow/Teo Chew styled cooking. It reminded me of my mom's chicken noodle soups. I wish there were some condiments or something on the side that I could've dipped the meat in or even put in my broth. I still enjoyed it. The broth wasn't boiling lava hot but just perfectly so where I just had to blow on the first few bites before being able to eat the rest of it as it. The place looks old, dirty and run-down and the service isn't very good. But if you grew up on ah-Ma or your mom's home cooking, this is good enough. The prices are very fair and I look forward to grabbing another quick bite again there.
