Insight Tutoring

David is a fantastic tutor who has been helping me since middle school. When I started with David, I was behind in math and had very little confidence in my math skills. Over the last five years, I have not only improved my competence in math through working with him but have come to genuinely love the subject. David is pragmatic in his approach to tutoring, but also flexible and accommodating to a student's needs, the second of which was key as my focus shifted between test prep and classwork throughout high school, and the math I was covering became increasingly difficult. While David helped me achieve perfect scores (800) on the SAT II math 2 and regular SAT math section, his easy way of breaking down complex concepts and the enthusiasm he brings to tackling math also fostered a way of thinking and approaching problem-solving that I will carry beyond high school. I would recommend David to students of all levels looking to improve their math skills (or critical reading which he also tutors), whether they seek to close an existing gap in their knowledge or challenge themselves academically.

Both of my daughters met with Dave for some short term test prep: SSAT and SAT. The location is great, very easy to get to by public transportation and many places to hang out or eat before, during or after. Dave was laid back, but directive and specific. Some of the other potential tutors we had talked with were way too intense and berated us for starting "too late." Dave, on the other hand, met the girls where they were and assessed their needs, which was to just review, gain some strategies and gain some overall confidence. We were very satisfied with Dave and deeply appreciated his help.

I'm so glad I found David.. He is so patient with my child while tutoring. He breaks down the math for a child to really understand . It's hard now days to find a genuine person and someone who loves what they are doing.. David is that person. After a few sessions she is now excited to go to tutoring . She says he is helping me and I'm finally understanding . I recommend David by far and it helps that it is one on one and not any other students in the same room..
