    The meatloaf rocked my world.

A spin off of Brenda's in the local hood provided a nice start to the day. Easy wait of 5 minutes before scoring seats at the counter. The seafood Johnny cakes are must and my friend raved about her grits. The staff was pleasant and efficient and layout enabled easy conversation without feeling the need to scream. Only disappointments were the mimosas served looking more like a vodka and cranberry and they only serve chicken fried cutlet chicken during brunch.

Pretty tasty food. For breakfast there is no better dish than the crab cake Benedict. For lunch, dinner, or breakfast...try the fried chicken. It's crazy good.

Yum. My first time at Brenda's Meat & Three, and I'll definitely be back! Came for lunch on a Monday with my parents. We arrived at about noon and we were seated right away (thank goodness)! Service was great, our server was there immediately, made some great recommendations, and kept my coffee mug full. We started with the shrimp hush puppies, which were really delicious. There were four in the order, served with lettuce and tomato and chipotle remoulade (which was great on fries later). The hush puppies were nice and crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the side, with large chunks of shrimp that you could both see and taste. I definitely recommend these. Dad ordered the delta scramble, which I think won the day. Huge chunks of shrimp and oyster, okra and tomato. All the flavors played really well off of each either, kinda smoky and delicious. The potatoes on the side were boring comparatively. Mom ordered the fried chicken, which was also really good. The chicken was juicy and spicy, and plentiful with the two pieces - one was a full breast, while the other was a drumstick. The cole slaw was creamy, the pepper jelly was a nice complement, and the fries were nice and salty, though nowhere near crispy enough for my taste. I ordered the pulled pork sweet potato hash, which was my least favorite. The pulled pork and the sweet potatoes just blended together in terms of both flavor and texture, making the entire dish very one note and boring. I asked for the eggs to be poached, and while they were perfectly cooked, they were too heavy on the vinegar. All of us got biscuits with our meal, which were HUMONGOUS, but delicious, buttery, and flaky. I can't wait to come back here to try more - I plan to stop next for dinner and get the true meat and three!
