A prefix breakfast/brunch menu makes you feel fancy, but the portions are itty bitty (my dining companion ran home for a granola bar immediately after) and the food itself is just aite.

Funny that this place is called Local's Corner, as it's a new restaurant that is part of the gentrification of the Mission and thus directly involved in displacing long-term residents (ie, locals). Still, that's true of most SF restaurants (though at least their names are a bit less obvious in highlighting this issue), so what about the food? My partner ordered some eggs, and they were so runny she couldn't eat them -- even though she asked that they be well cooked. When she asked the waiter if they could be cooked more, the waiter refused and gave a bunch of attitude about how that was how they should be cooked. If you're vegetarian, the menu is likely to be pretty unappealing.

Rather than feed us oversized portions of meat they served small plates of immaculate food mostly using fresh produce and using meat just to provide flavor. Really well made. We tried the Uni (sea urchin) Hand Roll, Butter Sautéed Potatoes with cured Tuna heart, Celery with red chilli saute and the amazingly well made Asparagus with crab meat and miso. The menu keeps changing I guess based on the season and availability of ingredients. Just like the menu and the portion sizes, the wine list is not huge but they had just the right stuff. Don't go here expecting one dish to fill your stomach. We ordered 4 dishes for 2 people but 5-6 might also be required based on what you are ordering.

Local's Corner is awesome. Great oysters and local seafood + some of the best vegetarian options around. Also, brunch is delicious.
