I hired Jose and his crew to paint our 4 story apartment building in San Francisco.  It's an older building on the corner so 4 sides with lots of windows.  His bid was very competitive.  He responded promptly to all of my questions and coordinated with the scaffolding company to start the the work earlier than expected.  They did excellent job power washing and prepping the building.  There was more prep work than expected but his crew worked Saturdays to get the job done on time.  Great communication throughout the project.  Tenants, neighbors, and owner - all pleased with the process and outcome.  They did a great job!

A good paint job looks good aesthetically based on colors dictated by the owner and lasts a decent amount of time. In our case, we are happy with the painting of our 2-unit building in North Beach. Four colors were used on our wood-sided building, over 100 years old. While we cannot comment at this time on the duration of the painting quality over time, we had him use good quality paint (we specified the reputable paint brand).Simons Painting gave us a decently priced bid, which included a scope of work, priced by side of building, and an amount to be determined for any wood repairs to be discovered once the scaffolding was up. We got a separate bid for the scaffolding.The time frame turned out to be longer than expected due to unforeseen PGE work in front of the building, which prevented setting up the front scaffolding. We were concerned about hitting the rainy weather. Meanwhile, Jose, the owner of Simons Painting, had his crew start on the side and back first. Along the way we expanded his scope of work to include repairing and painting (in another color) the roof deck and adjoining stairs, replacement of a rotted back window, and other miscellaneous work. His additional prices seemed reasonable. All in all, we highly recommend Simons Painting. Jose is resourceful and his crew can do more than painting if it turns out you need more than just a simple paint job.

I didn't see a way to edit my previous review (also 5 stars)...I wanted to add that after my job completed, I noticed that they'd missed a small exterior wall on the neighbor's side, accessible only from their porch. I contacted Jose in the afternoon, and he had someone come and take care of it first thing in the morning. Amazing!

Get this  ... made an appointment for an estimate, and no show. Later, got a call asking to reschedule, and once again, no show. You tell me if you'd hire these guys.

I have owned property and dealt with contractors in SF for 42 years.  It was a pleasure to work with Jose and his crew.  His estimates are fair, he shows up on time and work is completed on time.  We started with a painting job which he did great.  Even the tenants were pleased.  He then pulled up 30 year old carpet and professionally installed laminate flooring in two units.  Painted and repaired outside stairwell.  Now we are starting a tile repair.  He has the ability to keep in control as the projects change and grow.  He also has a real business with  license and bonds.  I hope to continue working with Jose and his company, Simon's Painting Company INC.. this is the only 5 star rating I have ever given a contractor in those 42 years.
