Vindaloooo! NYC gal here who never went to India, but the Vindaloo (lamb as they wont substitute) was outstanding!!! Super sexy cool vibe. Ill most definitely be back when in town. (This photo was taken after devouring it 1/8 of the way. Fall off the bone amazing. Best lamb Ive ever had and I dont even like lamb!

Located cozily in the Yerba Buena lane, Amber ranks amongst one of the finest Indian eats in the Bay Area. Their food is authentic, rich and really well balanced in terms of spice level. The menu is extensive and gives you lots to try when you go back to it. As a North Indian native myself, I LOVE the Dal Makhani (called Dal Amber) - this is one of the few restaurants Ive tried in the entire U.S. that pulls off the smoky, creamy and delicate texture of this special dish correctly.

Food was cold and lamb kebab entree was similar to a heavy sausage. Mint sauce was good. Had to listen to servers congregated near my not so peaceful table. My server was polite as was water server. Others not so much, just loud and insensitive. Expensive as well. I do not recommend.
