Unquestionably 5 stars. We thought our previous dentist (Curtis Miyahara on the peninsula) was good, but Dr. Foon shows how great a dentist can be. He has better technology (LED video camera, advanced dental shields, special tooth polishing, etc.) and MAKES HIS OWN CROWNS! Plus his prices if you self-insure are very reasonable.

I am so lucky to have found Dr Foon as my dentist.  I picked him randomly because he is located near me and has the same name as my father.  But seriously he is the best dentist I have ever had!!!  He very experienced but use a lot of new technology in his office.  I went in for a exam but 3 ended up fixing 3 teeth for me that has been extremely bothersome for a while and even sandblasted my teeth 2 shades whiter.  He is semi retired but he accepted me as a new patient. High recommend him to anyone.

I went to Dr Foon as a new SF resident, after having a horrible dentist experience in the last place I lived. Mary was so kind and accommodating when I explained I was a little afraid. Dr Foon explained everything that was happening in depth and did very gentle work. I had a few cavities filled, and my teeth cleaned. They are both very kind people and run an excellent practice!

Dr Foon is the best. Explains choices. Does great work. And is reasonable. I fear he will retire someday. And Mary is always welcoming and fits me in when I need it.

I've been going to Dr. Foon for nearly 40 years and I live in fear he retires before I kick off. After I left the city I still commute in from Marin. His prices are reasonable, he's very skilled and cares more about his patients and general happiness than just making money with a treadmill of clients. He's also one of the very few dentists who actually makes his own gold crowns on the premises. (Ask to see the workshop.) Most people don't bother with gold anymore but its still the best. He and Mary always make me laugh which is not something you can say about every Dentist.
