City Kayak

I've rented kayaks here at least a dozen times, almost always solo. The first time, I had to prove that I could self-rescue by purposefully capsizing in front of the owner. So, he cares about safety. Kayaking in SF Bay is somewhat challenging (ferries, etc.) but it's actually a blast as well. I'm returning to SF next month for a visit and plan to rent here again. Glad you're still in business!

We had a great experience working with Ted and the team at City Kayak! We were planning a special event for my husband's 50th birthday and had some unique requests for how we wanted to set up our Kayak experience. Ted not only accommodated what we were asking for, but gave some great input about how to make our kayak experience the best it could be. On the day of the outing, we had a little rain, so there were some concerns if we could still go, but ultimately we made it work. I appreciated Ted's concern for the safety and comfort of our party guests on the kayaks, and I was happy we were ultimately still able to go. I highly recommend City Kayak for a great kayaking experience.

I've stored my kayak here for a few years and think this place is great.  The location, Embarcadero at Townsend/ Pier 40 can't be beat.  Ted and his team are very service-driven and put safety first.  They always have updates on tides/wind conditions that help frame a day on the water.  This is a great resource for paddlers in SF.
