McElroy Tutoring

After working with Brian this past semester I have seen my GRE scores improve! He is very good at allowing me to understand practice problems regardless of their difficulty and is very easy to connect with academically and personally. Before working with Brian I was stressed out about having to take another standardized test, but trust me if you work with him your scores will improve.

Brian is truly one of the best tutors around. My daughter worked with him on standardized testing and, in a very short time, Brian was able to raise her score significantly. Brian is very detailed in the way he explains things and truly helps the student master any areas that they are deficient. He also gives the student all the confidence they need to execute on the test. Thank you Brian for helping our daughter succeed!!

I hired Vince Kotchian at McElroy to work with my son on SAT prep. My son has very good grades, and usually he tests well. But on his first time taking the SAT, he got a score that we felt was low for him, even though he had attended his high school's free SAT prep classes. After working with Vince, my son retook the exam, and scored 190 points higher! Vince related very well to my son, and he kept me informed of my son's progress. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Vince and McElroy. And the result speaks for itself.

If you're looking for SAT/ACT/GRE/GMAT tutoring- this is the place to go! In high school I had tried one of those group SAT classes and it did not help me at all. I was always a good student, but standardized testing was a bit more tough for me. When I decided to apply to graduate programs and take the GRE I searched for a private tutor and stumbled upon the website for McElroy Tutoring. It was the best thing I could have done at the time! I began weekly tutoring the 6 weeks leading up to my exam and ended up scoring better than I could have imagined. I credit my GRE score for many of my admissions (including George Washington University!), and I could not have done it without McElroy. I worked with Vince(which was absolutely great), but also saw some of the other tutors in action and they were equally dedicated. What was different about McElroy was the one-on-one attention and the tutoring methods. During my SAT classes I remember sitting there bored out of my mind, in a classroom of 30 students or so, and being fed information. Vince broke down the information when necessary(i.e. when I forgot how to calculate the volume of a cylinder), but he really focused on teaching me how to TAKE the test. He taught me how to read the questions and the answers from the minds of the writers of the test. I am currently in the middle of my Master's at NYU and I really don't think I could have got here without the help of McElroy tutoring. If you're looking for a tutor, look no further!
