        Very rude bartender. Asked "what do you want" then walked away. We sat at the bar for 5 min not even getting acknowledged.

        17.5% gratuity automatically added, be prepared for that. The dishes are reasonably priced because they factor in the tip. Food is worth it, Spanish dancers and music at night. Paella is enough for 4.

        A hidden gem in San Diego. My wife and I visited the restaurant for the first time and were impressed with the live music, helpful wait staff, menu selections and overall ambiance of the place. I can't believe that as a native San Diegan, I had never been to La Gran Tapa, which is the original tapas restaurant in San Diego (started in 1984). I highly recommend La Gran Tapa for lunch, dinner or cocktails.

        Beautiful murals on the wall and romantic...and the ambiance is very much like a hidden gem on b street (as said in another review) . Music nicely balanced with the atmosphere. The portions more than enough. Selection was Special of the day...
