My girlfriend and I are visiting California from Amarillo Texas, we were looking for somewhere close to our hotel and we found “On a Roll Cafe” really close. It was a little difficult to find so we attempted calling the Cafe but the number provided online never answered but never the less we made it, when we walked in, we were not greeted by the employees or smiled at. One employee sat at a table and stared at us the other didn’t bother to give us any attention. We waited at the counter for approximately 20 seconds before the employee that was sweeping finally came to take our order. I ordered one of the burgers on the menu she quickly informed me the kitchen was shut down because they were about to close. It was 2:20 when we walked in and exactly 2:25 when we placed the order, online said every day of the week that they close at 3:00 so I was a little curious, I decided to ask what time they closed and she informed me 2:30 my girlfriend asked why the time online said 3:00 and we had no answer, I proceeded with the order as fast as I could and during the time of her taking the order we had non stop finger tapping on the counter which made me feel pressured to just hurry and order whatever on the menu and that’s exactly what I did. Another couple came in at 2:27 and the were denied food so we felt some what lucky, we recieved our food in about 6 minutes and she also opened the back door and to let us out before we can check to make sure our order was correct we rushed out of the shop and ate outside at tables we could find. The “On a roll cafe” really could go above standards if they just had better customer service. I wanted to rate the review 1 star but because the food was amazing I had to go with 2. I really do hope some of the issues get fixed and the customer service gets improved, I know this is not the business itself just the people who work for it.
