Montesano Music

I went to Paul when I wanted to record a 3 song EP of covers. He was great to work with as he took my vision and brought it to life. He recorded my vocals, came up with all the arrangements,played live guitar, and mixed and mastered it. His guitar playing was excellent, especially his tone. He never was over bearing with it like a lot of guitar players can be. It was a very rewarding and fun experience and am very happy with the result. I also thought his rates were very reasonable. I would definitely go to him again with another project.

I have a very unique voice. The production and guidance were horrific. I don't know if it is a lack of production knowledge or not caring. Needless to say since I came to him with no knowledge he should have had the ethics to guide me before I produced a cd including graphics. All the cds. produced I find myself having to take cd out shred and salvage the jewel cases for other uses. Using Paul was a huge expensive learning experience.

I met Paul in 1998 after I moved to San Diego. I had been looking for a music instructor who could teach me about Bossa Nova. I then called him. I had no idea that I would begin a journey that would take 10 years of steady lessons, conversations, discovery, and a friendship. I would go to Brazil twice and learn many songs in Portuguese. I would go on to play for others and share the magic that is music and Bossa Nova. All this happened because I called Paul and took a chance. It opened the door to a wonderful experience. It happened because of Paul's warm character, knowledge, teaching skills, and his authentic passion for art and the artist within. When I play for others, they often wonder how I came upon such sweet magic (Paul's chords). Sometimes I admit that I learned it from Paul but sometimes I keep quiet, secretly enjoying and savoring the experience of transforming those around me. Thank you Paul...

Paul collaborated with my wife to write the lyrics and the music to honor my 50th birthday. It was not only spot on, but moving and creative. I couldn't think of a better gift from my wife. I wake up every morning to this song on my IPhone, because it is my alarm. The song production was done in his recording studio and sounds totally professional. Thank you Paul Montesano
