I can’t recommend Charles and CT Scapes strongly enough! Charles put together a fantastic landscape design that beautifully complements our home and was beyond pleasant to work with. He handled challenges with a “can-do” approach, and the outcome is stunning. Highly, highly recommended for any and all landscaping design needs.

We highly recommend CTScapes for landscaping, backyard and front yard design and construction. They fulfilled our project requirements and enhanced them through their expertise and implementation. Chip Tracht, the horticultural mastermind, discovered a teak substitute, Iroko, which is beautiful and less expensive for our pergola. He integrated the plants, trees, rocks, pebbles, pavers, artificial turf, acid stain borders on pathways, zen garden, planter boxes, firepit, barbecue countertop, stucco wall and our own abalone shells with excellent quality and style. Chip Tracht designed and installed the xeriscape for our OB office property using a number of mature plants we already had and an number of new plantings. Even nearly 3 years later we are getting compliments and requests for referral. Couldn't be happier.

Three years ago we engaged CT Scapes to change-over our yard from grass and water-thirsty flowers to one which was interesting, fun to be in, attractive to butterflies and birds, and which used MUCH less water. We went through several iterations of design planning, during which Chip made great suggestions, but also listened carefully to our ideas. We also appreciated his willingness to incorporate some of the existing plants and yard features into a new design. Then Chip and his team transformed both the front and back yard into a space that includes a Japanese-influenced lanai and a lovely pond for fish and waterlilies, as well as other locations that feature low water use plants with a range of sizes, textures and colors so that something is blooming year- round. In addition, they built raised beds for vegetables, and planted a variety of fruit trees. As the garden has matured and grown Chip and his team have helped us prune, replace, and modify as needed. We are very pleased with their work, professionalism, flexibility, and responsive service!

Having moved back to San Diego just 3 years into an older home in Mission Hills, we needed substantial landscaping in front, back (on a canyon), and alongside the house. After disappointing work by two other major landscapers (including one purportedly reputable nearby nursery), we contacted CT Scapes and got a prompt estimate, numerous useful suggestions, and a sense of flexibility and responsibility from the owner, Mr. Charles (Chip) Tracht. First, they arrived on time and immediately got to work after a brief consultation with me. Throughout each morning we periodically discussed plans, needs, expectations, and time-frame, and the advice we got for plantings and placements were priceless. These folks are efficient friendly, and flexible, and will alter the original scheme if the owner so desires. Second, they suggest supplements or modifications as deemed appropriated, but never without conferring first with the client. Third, their prices are fair and reasonable....not the cheapest, but you get a job very well and very thoroughly done, and on schedule. Fourth, they clean up so well after finishing, which we found not to be the case with other landscapers we've used. I should add that I hired CT Scapes for at least two other major projects at my own house (AND for a job at a rental I also own) and was obviously quite pleased with the work, the timeliness, the costs, and the general quality of the plants, planning, and lay-out. They did extremely well putting in attractive retaining walls, flagstone walks, fences, plumbing, and sprinkling and watering systems, at the same time undoing or redoing old or poorly installed jobs others before them had done. I should add that their willingness to modify the job when it was over half done, or to add on as their schedule permitted, was a real plus. Furthermore, you're left with a sense of satisfaction and trust, knowing they'll come back promptly to fix anything that might go wrong or that you wish to have altered after the fact. I cannot recommend CT Scapes and Mr. Tracht highly enough.
