My husband and I walked in with our young child. We come in regularly, as we have our Doctor across the street. My husband had my kids extras in a backpack he was carrying. I was on a call outside and my husband went into the store first.
A short middle aged white lady with long brown hair was demanding he leave his backpack with my kids things and his wallet in the front of the store. Two people walked in before him with bags and backpacks, but he was the only one stopped. The lady started raising her voice demanding his backpack (our diaper bag) to be left with her and we ended up leaving.
The treatment today left my husband feeing racially profiled, uncomfortable, and embarrassed. Especially the lady yelling "bye" sarcastically to us out the door. I don't know if the lady was having a bad day or what, but was absolutely despicable racist behavior.
