You start to wonder if the disclaimer on the the doorway to the garage stating that "15 Minute Smog Check" is merely a name and not a service estimate is a sign that people repeatedly complain about the service. I now know why. I came in at 11:30am, signed in and was told I could leave for about 90min because of 2 other cars ahead of me. "Okay, I'll eat lunch", I told myself and returned a bit early at 12:40pm to ensure I wasn't skipped. I actually left there at 4pm! While waiting, there were customers that came and left because either I told them how long I'd been waiting or because they waited for 30min without anyone even coming to the front desk. I only reason I kept my sanity was that I could read a book on my smart phone. (Disclaimer: I too would have left for another place but my car was too new for the other place and with a DMV appointment the next day, I was stuck)

Called ahead and they said no appointment needed. Once I got there came in and handed over my renewal notice but there were a couple cars ahead of me. the Person running the counter kept coming in and out saying to everyone there they are working on it now. But never said who she was talking about. Apparently their Dyno kept breaking every 10 min so they had to restart it several times. Then after 30 min waiting she came back in saying they need to restart the Dyno again and it would take another 30 min. By that time I left and will never come back.

Patience required! 90 Minute Smog is more like it. I had an appointment and it took 30 minutes to pull it into the bay and another 60 minutes before I was paying. The person in the office just kept saying it's being worked on, without any time estimate. To top it off, it was $72 dollars. I should have shopped around. I should have cut my loss after 30 minutes. Now I known and now you know. If you expect your vehicle back at a certain time then go somewhere else! Also check the reviews on Yelp.

I was short on time and chose this place "15 Minute Smog". It took 70 minutes for the clerk to tell me "car computer is not communicating with test equipment". She tells me to "drive it for 70 miles and come back and it will cost $26 for a retest". Obviously many have the same complaint about the long wait. There was absolutely nothing that was 15 minutes. Complained to the Better Business Bureau. I use 1 Hour Photo and 1 Hour dry cleaning all the time. I expect to pay more for the expedited service. Gary the owner replies that "I shouldn't expect KFC chicken to be fried in Kentucky". I'm not making this up.He continues to on another email telling me that "customer service was present and I failed to use it in checking why it took 70 minutes to finish my car. The bright side is that I drove around the corner and got the car to pass in 45 minutes. If you $55, lots of patiences and lots of time to waste; then this is the place for you. Lastly, I can't begin to fathom anyone writing a rave review about a smog besides employees or friends of 15 minute smog.
