Fernanda was awesome. The water was cold but she still made it fun and very instructional. She was really patient with some east coasters learning the basics of surfing. I would highly recommend Fernanda.

I am glad that I had my first surfing lesson with Fernanda from Hokali! The instructor was very skillful in that she found a window on a day with wild rain forecast. I could surf before it rains! I was worried about my physical ability while wanting to do surfing so much. This experience helped me stand up on the board and I am so excited about it!!!!! I will definitely coming back to SD and. Hokali!! Thank you so much :D

I had my surf lesson with Fernanda and it was SO MUCH FUN! She made me feel comfortable, did not rush me and really made me feel confident in my abilities! She has such a charming presence that puts you at ease near the water. I will definatley be going back for more lessons and she had great tips for when you want to go out and practice on your on. Can't recommend enough! Great lesson, great instructor, great vibes!

Jimmy taught me how to catch my own waves and how to read the waves. He adjusted the lecture content based on my daily condition and maximize my ability to ride with the waves.
