We love this place. We're about 5 months into our lease, now, and we're just as happy as we thought we'd be. It's an older building, but it's pretty well-maintained. There are no weight restrictions for dogs, and in the PB area, that's like a dream come true. It's an extremely dog-friendly building- they even have a doggy waste bag station right outside of the building! Somewhere around 80-90% of the tenants have dogs, which has been really fun for our dogs- they get to see dog-friends every single day! It's also nice to be surrounded by friendly neighbors who also like dogs. Some people are more or less social / conscientious than others, but there are no "bad" neighbors. It's a good place to live, we're really happy. The apartments themselves are nice. They're definitely older, but they've recently been renovated and they're pretty good. If you're looking for something brand-new, this is not the place for you- but there's no weird yellow linoleum or grossness that you'd find in a lot of older apartments. The floors in our place are wood-like linoleum (they look pretty good, especially for linoleum), white cabinetry, black speckled countertops, nice new fans. It's super easy to decorate around. It's very close to a lot of the action in PB, without being RIGHT on the strip. We walk pretty much everywhere. The building is also gated (with a restricted access parking garage), so it keeps out a lot of the craziness that can spill over to the area from the strip. It IS loud here, though (the streets below are loud, not the building). It's something we've just gotten used to. It's kind of what you have to deal with if you want to live in a place in PB where you can walk to the beach, almost any store you want (you need to get in your car to go to Target or Costco, but even those places are super close), bars, etc.. To me, it's worth it. Prices: the rent is a little high, but water is included. If you're not from the area, let me tell you something: water is EXPENSIVE here. This is a HUGE perk. I do think the rent is worth it, though, based on the experience I've had, here. We could pay less and live in yet another place where no one fixes anything or cares about the quality of living there- but to me, for the location and the caring, friendly atmosphere, it's absolutely worth the price (plus seriously if you have a large dog you're not going to find many places around here that will take you). Do I wish the rent were less? Sure. But overall, we're happy here, so it is what it is. The best part of this place is honestly the woman who manages the property, Shamita. She organizes fun events, fixes problems promptly, keeps everything in check (if someone was being unreasonably loud and waking the whole building, she would shut that down- people do hang out in the courtyard late sometimes, but there's a limit to it and it never gets to the point where it's out of control), and is just a generally nice and fair person. She keeps doggy treats in her office and hands them out to the dogs as they go in and out of the building. Coolest thing ever! She really makes all the difference. If you're looking to live in a dog-friendly place where the management actually cares about you, where they keep things clean and relatively quiet, this is a great place. More info: - Washers and dryers on-site: you have to pay to use them, but they're reasonably-priced. There's 2 washers and 2 dryers per floor. - You have to pay for an extra garage parking spot (1 spot included with each apartment), but it's worth it. - There's a public grill and pretty nice courtyard hangout area that we sometimes have events in (huge Thanksgiving potluck last year- hooray!). - No pool. Can't have it all :(.
