Been suffering from congestion, cough and lack of energy the last three weeks. Whenever I thought I was better, my body just gave in again. So grateful  Sacramento has a place like New Leaf Ayurveda. I got an Ayurvedic abhyanga massage with herb infused oils specially formulated for me and what my body was going through. Followed by svedana herbal steam with the most sweet smelling and magical oil blend my senses have ever experienced. So I breathed deeply and took it all in. I feel like I detoxed months, maybe years, of stress and exhaustion. I am so grateful.

I came to New Leaf Ayurveda a year ago after making my liver very angry with a functional medicine supplement regimen. After trying some gentler Ayurvedic remedies, I came to the conclusion that my body just doesn't want supplements of any kind. So I worked with Nicole and tapped in to my own intuition to achieve a "food as medicine" approach to healing and health. Though I thought I was eating well before (whole foods, paleo), the wisdom of Ayurveda shows that no diet is one size fits all. I now eat according to my dosha (constitution) to keep a balance and address anything that comes up. That, along with adopting some Ayurvedic lifestyle practices, has me healthy and happy. As the Ayurvedic proverb goes, "When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use; when diet is correct, medicine is of no need." I appreciate the individualized care at New Leaf and highly recommend them if you are fed up with the western medicine model or trying to patch together a self-treatment plan. I learned the hard way how dangerous that can be. Nicole is a skilled practitioner, and the entire staff is friendly and helpful and make me feel truly cared for.

Simple facts that made my visit unpleasant. The meeting was late, the counselor discussed her life and her husbands life for the majority of the visit, she claimed to be psychic and thusly able to understand exactly what was wrong with me, prescribed me herbs that cost $500 from the start and upon canceling my $500 panchakarma (which was described as a three hour treatment - look up panchakarma..it is typically not a few hour treatment, generally much more extensive and takes weeks to prepare for) there were no more follow ups from her or her staff.
I went in for depression. It was about a year and half ago when I came to New Leaf Ayurveda to help treat my depression. Since then, I have practiced with other Ayurvedic practioners and I believe ayurveda has helped me greatly, so do not give up on this healing modality.
New Leaf Ayurveda, however, is not the place to improve your health.
I think they genuinely do not understand the fundamentals of healthcare and skip the necessary steps to be a competent facilitators of health.

It has been such a blessing to find New Leaf Ayurveda  I was experiencing dizziness, constant bruising, cramping, bloating and a few other things and Nicole has helped me so much! In just about a month, I have no more cramping, dizziness or bloating. The dizziness and bruising stem from an iron deficiency and we are still working on that but I love coming here SO much more than visiting the doctors my health insurance covers. You can make genuine and personal connections here and it is such a relief from how you're treated by "regular" doctors/staff. Not only has my physical health improved but my mental health as well. I was experiencing a lot of anxiety and stress and since my first visit, I feel more confident and have so much more clarity. I literally love this place and fell in love with Ayurveda. Thank you Nicole and I'm so happy to have found you and your team
