I took my cat here because he was scratching at his ears. They just aren’t up front about the prices until they try to get you to commit to a big bill and they act like you have to do all this stuff to your cat and there is no other choice. And they didn’t even know what was wrong with him and they suggested to take tests for things that the vet said there were no visible signs of. There were just a handful of better things at another vet. One that didn’t shove a freaking rod up my cats butt when I didn’t want them too. They suggested a ton of stuff without really knowing what was wrong. They just wanted to treat him for everything in the hopes it would solve his problem. It’s hard to explain but the vet tech was there, we talked, then she left, then the vet was there, we talked, then she left, then the vet tech comes back and sticks you with this bill and you don’t get to talk to the vet again. And it all just happened so fast without me really having the chance to ask her any questions after I made my final decision, on what I could afford to have done to my cat. Honestly go to el Camino. Ps I will make sure to keep you updated if the treatment works. Keep in mind I was faced with a big bill and had to choose what I could afford without being able to ask the vet any questions until after she was gone and the bill that they make you think you have to sign and pay for all the stuff they want to do to your cat. It’s just maybe I’m crazy for thinking that when you step into a vet and your cat has a small problem, one that is probably really common, you just expect the vet to have a better idea of what is wrong with the cat. But they just want to bill you as much as possible. It’s sad when my animal isn’t seen as a human or even a creature with complex and sensitive feelings instead of a paycheck. Literally I asked this vet tech not to stick a rod up my cats butt and she said he wouldn’t feel it. And forced us to do it. Like yeah maybe you didn’t just hurt my cat really badly but he still feels it and the fact that your attitude is to pretend my cat can’t feel anything. He feels something so don’t tell me he feels nothing. My cat is not a paycheck, he is the most important thing to me. If they had said hey here is a $300+ bill to cure your cat I would have no problem. But when you try to stick me with a $300+ bill and you don’t even know what’s going to fix my cat or what is wrong with him and you want treat him for everything under the sun in hopes it will cure him. No thanks. Literally my cat probably just had mites from being outside in the dirt. You can by medicine at the store store for less than 5 bucks. Update. My cat 100% has ear mites just like I thought when I originally brought him in. The medicine costs less than $4 at the grocery store. It should have been easily diagnosed and treated by the dr but instead I was given the run around and chose the wrong treatment. So instead of actually giving my cat the treatment he needed, I gave him something else. An antibiotic. Which aren’t good for bacteria. That includes beneficial bacteria in the gut as well. I hope my cats digestive track isn’t effected too much by this round of what was probably some relatively heavy antibiotics. Good thing he is young and I feed him probiotics.
