This place has had a very bad reputation around town, for a very long time, and this is written as a warning, for travelers. (I have nott personally stayed here, and never would.) I am a long time local of the greater Sacramento area, and this hotel has not been a Clarion since last may, when the city filed suit against the franchise owner, for allowing prostitution and drug activity and other criminal activity to take place on the property. Clarion has also filed suit for wrongful use of their name after they terminated the franchise owners contract back in May. It has been rebranded, by the owner, as "The Sacramento Inn." For your safety, DO NOT stay there.

This place is a DUMP!!! I was moved there by Quality Inn because they overbooked. The rooms were ugly and they stink. The AC didn't work, the tecs that looked at it blamed it on me, still didn't work. Breakfast was lousy. The place looks nothing like the photos on the website. Everything about it feels shady. Check out YELP reviews.

I've worked here for many years with little issues with the property. But this hotel has gone down hill. I rented out one of their executive suits and was highly disappointed. The bar area has a leak from the sink drain pipe that seemed to been there for years due to how it smelled. The door doesn't lock or shut properly but I know it was like that since 2007. The tub wasn't updated or cleaned and the carpet is just filthy. They told me around 130 a night and over 200 for two nights. But I get charged over 400 on my account. Nothing have changed with this place. From a former Red Lion Hotel staff I'll have to say you could waist your time but just don't waist your money with this property. They just changing the mame of it but it still the same place.

If you're staying to drink & party all night, this is the place for you! But don't expect to have a comfortable or relaxing stay! Awful, poorly trained, inattentive guest service. The inside of the rooms are SO old. They use a "2 pipe air system" it explains right on the wall next to the thermostat, and that "the entire building will either have heat or AC, but never both at the same time". All you can do is turn the rusty knob until ridiculously loud air spews from the vent. It's 2am and freezing cold, yet I have no heat because the buildings air system is set on AC. The TV is ancient and to dim to see half the time, and has no picture settings to try and brighten it. The water pressure is terrible!! Shower head just spits out in a thin spay, no tubs, and my shower floor is peeling and torn up. No fridges. No microwaves or toasters. No utensils, plates or bowls, just two coffee cops. My room is completely missing a recliner (I can see the whole imprint on the floor), front desk said they'd replace it but never a word. Oh! And I waited more than an hour after check in because supposedly there were "no clean rooms". The whole time, asking the front desk attendant if my room was ready yet and was repeatedly told to wait so he could assist other guests just walking in. Asked for another employee or manager, was told to "hold on" and ignored. I finally just went up to my room, and surprise! Completely clean and not a maid in sight...my entire wing of the hotel had been finished cleaning that entire time, but I was stuck in the muggy lobby with flies everywhere while my cat cried bloody murder, for God knows why. NOT WORTH A FRACTION OF THE PRICE! GO TO QUALITY INN, DOUBLE TREE OR THE HOLIDAY INN!

I don't know where to begin. First off, I shall keep it simple. This is the old Red Lion. Definitely not a family oriented hotel. My son and I do not do well with cigarette smell. When I spoke to the person who answered the phone, specifically stating that we wanted a Non-smoking room. She said not, a problem. When we arrived it took my husband 30minutes to get our room key. They held $100 cash and ran his bank card for the amount of $164. As soon as we walked in, my son and I could smell the cigarette odor in our room. We had two double beds instead of a 2 Queen that we were informed via telephone. We spend 5 mins in the room. Til we decided to check out the La Quinta Inn on Richards Blvd. The person at the desk, gave us a receipt to show that we had been refunded. That was Friday night May 3rd, 2014. It is now Thursday May 8th, 2014. I have been trying to get a hold of their manager and I keep getting the run around. They have not yet returned the $164 into our account. I would NOT Reccomend this place to a family or a business man/woman. Even my four year old son,was disgusted and couldn't stop coughing in the room.
