He is a skilled litigator and his discovery technique is unmatched. Coming from someone who is not a good deponent, I have personal experience with his skill in preparing me and others and his great use of the sword and the shield in the depositions. Michael Molland worked to with our Non-profit group CARRQ for several years helping us to fight a large commercial project proposed in our rural neighborhood. He tirelessly gave us thoughtful advice and attention. He was proactive, engaging and relentless in the advocacy of our issues. I was the plaintiff in a consumer law case opposing a large corporation. I retained Michael Molland shortly before my case was set for trial to represent me at the trial itself. He inherited a complicated case and was quick to understand the intricacies involved. From the beginning, he was able to accurately pinpoint areas of strength and weakness in my case. He intelligently used this to define multiple legal strategies and as a result opposing counsel had to rethink their chances of success at trial. In preparation for trial, the combination of his knowledge, extensive legal background, and skill as a litigator was clearly evident. At all times I felt a confidence in his legal representation. Michael Molland has represented Citizens Advocating for Roblar Rural Quality (CARRQ) for several years in our fight to prevent the development of a gravel mine in rural west Petaluma. As an all-volunteer neighborhood group, CARRQ took on the uphill battle against the project developer and the County of Sonoma to stop the project, but it was not until Michael stepped in to help us that we were able to achieve any success at all. Michael took our case because he believed in our cause and wanted to help us make a difference in our community. He helped us craft strategies to oppose the project and guided us through years of legal actions. He (and his team) devoted hundreds of hours to our case and skillfully and tenaciously represented us before public agencies and in court. Of most importance to me though, has been Michael’s integrity; his ability to listen and put clients at ease, and his passion for doing what is right.
