***update: Union use to be our favorite restaurant in Pasadena for years and use to dine here very often. Visited this week, and I was very disappointed. Their portions are half the amount of what were use to getting for the exact price. My partner and I would always order (Arugula Salad, Grilled Octopus, Truffle Pasta, Squid Ink Pasta and the Pistachio Pasta, and would be left perfectly full) this time around per usual, ordered the exact same and were left still very hungry. It wasnt until my partner pointed out this post I made years back and showed me the pictures, pointing out to me that we had literally got half the portions we are use to getting. Idk if it was the chef that evening of this is their new norm. Either way, consistency should be upheld to a priority in a restaurant where paying a $300 bill for 2 is expected. Older review**** The definition of elevated fine dining food quality! Everything in the menu is worth its price. Grilled octopus, AMAZING! Lobster ceviche, AMAZING! Arugula salad, AMAZING! Squid ink pasta, AMAZING! Lamb chops, AMAZING! Their TRUFFLE FETTUCCINI, the best in the industry! Finger licking food. Most gourmet restaurants grate truffle and on the pasta and forget to cook the pasta with truffle oil, so after youre done with the truffle youre left with a flavorless pasta UNION gives you an actual truffle pasta. Cooked in truffle oil and with actual truffle! You MUST have the pasta, worth every penny! Their wine selection is exquisite, may have had a couple bottles. All delicious.
