Have sold online over 20 years, 100% positive reviews on ebay, amazon, etsy, bonanza, & mercari. Got unlucky last week. Sold $300 appliance, perfect condition. Buyer lied, tore it apart, wants a return. Mercari agreed even though I have provided documentation all the way. I will be filing complaint w/ BBB, buyer's police dept., etc. Mercari makes it impossible to speak to a person, has very little info online re: address, phone, etc. Absolutely the worst for honest sellers.

I ordered a tubing cutting machine off this website. It arrived but the software was defective and the machine didn't function properly. I asked to return it. I received an email telling me that i needed to send pictures of the machine and packaging within 24 hours. Since i was not at the factory that day it took me an extra day to get the photos. Even though the photos had nothing to do with the issue, they rejected my return request due to late photos. Impossible to contact a real person, all auto emails which clearly didn't address the defect issue. The machine seller tried to get a fix for the software issue but Mercari cut them off in the chat. I have purchased equipment for 30+ years and this is singularly the worst purchasing experience I have had. They go out of their way to deliver a bad customer experience.

Horrible treatment of sellers. They'll favor the scammers and will make it impossible to speak to a human. They are a scam themselves.

Let me start off by saying I have only bought from Mercari, I never have sold anything on here. But from a buyers point of view, I haven’t had any problems as of yet. Not sure how sellers are treated.
