Absolutely ridiculous that they are not honoring gift cards while still operating and conducting business in California. Gift cards were purchased in good faith that the company would honor them while their stores were open. Bad business ethics to not continue to accept the gift cards while still in business. And to only have a small print out stating this at the register and not at the front door is even worse! I guess karma gets them in the end.

I would give zero stars if it was possible. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They finally opened after being closed from quarantine, with hours posted on their door saying 12-7:00 pm. At 6:20 pm my elderly mom and I and my daughter approached the entrance and watched as a group of folks were let in. The lady at the door told me they closed at 6:00 and we could not come in. When I asked about the 7:00 posted closing time and also inquired about the group of people she just let in, she answered that it was a government regulation that they close an hour before their posted time and that the last group of people was the last for the day, 42 minutes before closing. We watched as 2 separate ladies walked up to the door and were allowed in, and the saleslady said that those ladies had family already inside. There is no posted sign that says they stop admitting people an hour before closing, and when my daughter called and spoke to the manager about it, the manager replied that it was a store decision. Its too bad, they could have made a huge sale between the three of us who werent let in, but now anyone else can have the merchandise because we will not be returning. Even customers coming out told us, ok, were out, you can go in referring to many store policies of only allowing a certain number of people in at a time. When we told them what was going on, these strangers hung around and watched and expressed how sorry they were for us. Funny thing is, had I not waited to help my elderly mom cross the street, I would have been in the last group of people that were let in, then my mom and daughter could have come in because I was already in and they could join me, according to the door lady's policy. Im glad this and all the other Pier One stores are going out of business. Obviously, they know nothing about positive customer relations and I no longer want any of their product in my home.
