Once of the best Carbonara's I've had outside of Italy! Huge portion but the quality was fantastic! Great service, lovely atmosphere; a gem of a find!

Our family has been coming here for years and its always delicious. They are always so kind and accommodating to young children too which is so refreshing. Its truly a gem of a restaurant and we always come back.

The tall elderly gentleman who owns the restaurant kindly invited me in to have dinner as he opened up the Il Vecchio restaurant for dinner service at 5pm on a Monday night. The atmosphere was relaxed as the kindly owner asked if everyones meals were ok at each table and hed also strike up some interesting stories and answer questions about the menu. I started with some delicious Italian Barbera wine and had as an appetizer some delicious burrata with basil, tomato and Buffalo mozzarella cheese. Also there was fresh artisan bread and a little plate of olive oil with balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in. The black pepper on the table was so fresh. I put some black pepper in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar too. The main dish I had was so very delicious. It was wild caught Rockfish grilled to perfection that was topped with a creamy fresh pesto sauce. There was also yellow rice and grilled vegetables on the side. For dessert, I had the Umbria gelato that had vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and hazel nuts and sea salt caramel. I also had a caffe corretto with Sambuca. Its hot coffee made with usually grappa or brandy or Sambuca. The service was excellent throughout the meal. Laura the waitress from Italy was really adorable and kind and helpful. She really made me feel welcome and at home.
