Awesome friendly family service, done in a timely manner. Had the headliner replaced in my 2010 Gti came out just like factory!! Highly recommend. Will definitely go back again!

On January 8, 2020, I took my 1999 BMW M3 convertible to Mike Stratton at Blind Squirrel Auto Upholstery. Though I had convertible top motor repaired previously, I was having problems with the convertible top getting stuck going up and down. Mike looked at the vehicle and said that it needed tension straps. I also opted to have him replace the entire roof. I approved a quote of $2020, gave him a deposit, and he ordered the straps and roof. The parts arrived, and Mike completed the work on 1/14/20. He said that it also needed a new headliner repair kit (paddles and laces). The additional charges were $175. I paid the entire bill of $2395.40. When I arrived home, I lowered the top, only to have it become stuck again when I attempted to raise it up - the same problem as before the repair work was done. I notified Mike, and he worked me into his schedule on March 6th. He had the vehicle for a week and managed to get the top operational again. He stated that he should have told me to leave the top up for at least a week before putting it down. That would allow the straps to stretch out some. I didnt put the top down again until March 25th, and it worked fine. I raised and lowered the top four or five times in the next ten weeks without problems. Then. In late May, the same problem reoccurred. I notified Mike on 6/17/20, and he said that he would squeeze me when he returned from vacation. I contacted him again on July 10th, asking him to squeeze me in soon, as I had a house guess arriving at the end of the month, and I wanted her to be able to use this car. He said that he thought that he could squeeze me in on Friday, 7/17/20, and would let me know. I never heard from him. So, it is now 7/25/20, Ive spent about $2400 and still have exactly the same problem as I did when I brought it into Blind Squirrel Upholstery over six months ago. Id avoid this business at all costs. He obviously doesnt stand behind his work. Once he received payment, he much too busy to correct what he didnt correct in the first place. Now, Im forced to bring the car to a different repair shop, which will cost me additional time and money.
