Karyn sold our home in the hot-hot area of Rockridge in Oakland, and we couldn't have picked a better real estate agent! Firstly, she's born-and-raised in Oakland, which means her knowledge of the area is like no other. Plus, she's got a great eye for staging & decor, knowing exactly what the market is trending towards, and what current buyers are looking for. We got an amazing price for our home, in a very streamlined and stress-free way. I can't recommend her enough..and she's hilarious. This gal knows her stuff!

We worked with Karyn of Monday Team for buying our first home in East Bay. With all of our criteria and with our budget (which was not much in the 'Bay Area - standard'), we never imagined that we would actually get to own a home in 2020. It became possible - in less than a month that is - only, because of Karyn's very personal initiatives. We felt that Karyn, as well as the whole Monday Team, do not feel that finding the right home for their clients is just a job; to them it is more like helping out their clients in their lives! We would love to share a detailed description of every aspect of our experience, as young, first generation immigrants, expecting first time parents, and first time home buyers. When we decided to go with Monday Team, we talked to Karyn. Knowledge about NEIGHBORHOODS: Karyn Selby, the agent who worked with us exclusively, knows the entire East Bay like the back of her hand. We never felt that Karyn is pushing. In fact, she was encouraging us to see more, compare more, think more, not to settle for anything that is not the best for us. House-hunt Process: From Monday Team's suggestions and internet search, whatever we decide, Karyn was always very happy to show us all of the homes (during COVID-19 pandemic time, this was not simple, on Karyn's side). If we like a home Karyn would go through the disclosure and summarize and explain everything to us. Many times, she would do it before we even go to see the home. We were expecting our first child during the house-hunt process. Both of us run marathons and one of us do Ironman triathlon races - all with utmost seriousness. And, both of us have a busy professional career (not sports, sadly!). Therefore, we needed good safe neighborhoods, out-doors friendly, close to shops, close to public transport, within certain distance from tech/biotech hubs, and still affordable. We needed enough space for the child, for us to be able to host parents (coming from overseas!), have nice backyards and enough space for home-office, plus for home gym! Also, we were hoping to have good elementary school, so that we do not need to hurry about moving as the child grows. Honestly, we DID NOT THINK WE WOULD FIND OUR HOME, NOT WITH OUR BUDGET! We thought, this would be a good experience in house-hunting! Surprisingly, we FOUND OUR HOME in less than a month! Of course, that became only possible because of Karyn and Monday Group's very special initiatives! The EXTRA MILE by Monday Group/Karyn Selby without which, we would not have had a home: After a few weeks of house hunt, a home of our liking would be, at least, 100k above what we can afford. Homes were going for 35, 40, and even 50% above the asking price! At this point, KARYN TOOK IT UP AS A PERSONAL CHALLENGE TO FIND US A HOME! She started contacting her real estate 'friends'. On a SUNDAY morning, we got this e-mail from Karyn with a link to a home that was yet to be on the market. This home was in exact neighborhood of our liking, and with features we were hoping to find! MONDAY, we saw the home. THE HOME WAS PERFECT! We made an offer with clauses saying that the seller/seller's agents would have to finish all the maintenance and have a clean report (Karyn worked on the wordings of the offer - it was very crafty!). On TUESDAY, the seller accepted our offer! In THREE WEEKS, we got the key (again thanks to the Financial Group that Monday Team suggested, the loan approval process was a breeze!). We are confident that had the home gone to bidding process, we would not have been able to afford it! Who knows how much it would have gone for! Without Karyn's and rest of the Monday Group's very personal initiative, we would not have had a home to move in before our newborn!
