Oakland Behavioral Health Clinic - VA San Francisco Health Care System

I would recommend this clinic for behavioral health. A bit confusing about the name change. Why is behavioral health not part of the clinic. It has always been a behavioral health place for mental health reeds. I joe other veterans know they have behavioral health services available.

At this VA Mental Health Outpatient Clinic, I am given outstanding care from my doctors. They are genuine, professional, and sincere. I am glad to be able to see them in person again, instead of online. The only drawback is the less than standard service I get when checking in at the counter. The parking spaces in the lot are super narrow and it can be a challenge to find a good spot that has not been impeded by the car in the next spot.

Staff is courteous, helpful and attentive. Lobby has been clean and free of small creatures. Phones are promptly answered with respect. Therapists are attentive as are housing specialists and others. Restrooms are clean. Surprisingly refreshing.

I am an Army combat veteran, who has been to a lot of different VA's in California, Washington, and Oregon. The quality of service we receive here is by far the best service I have received civillian or VA. The doctors here really care and take their time with us. I didn't think this quality of care existed for the VA...I highly recommend that if your a veteran move here just for the amazing psychiatric care here in Oakland.
