I know you had a fire TWO MONTHS AGO. Now you say you won't reopen until March 2023!Just move already! How about back to DOWNTOWN OAKLAND where most of us joined you in the first place?Hayward is too far away and Alameda is too slow.* JUST MOVE ALREADY.*you took over a puny and dysfunctional CU in Alameda and kept the crappy employees. You didn't make it better.

This bank is average. I wish they wouldn't put people's money on hold, especially during a pandemic. What is the world coming to???

I've been using this branch for years, and they are so helpful and patient. I run three businesses, and they go above and beyond for me. Just had Angela Caldwell help me print my statements from 4 accounts for an entire year to make my taxes an easier endeavor. Their super reward checking account gets better interest than any savings account. The Oakland airport branch never has a line and Provident got me totally away from Bank of America. Sleeping well.

The people that work here are very nice. However, they don't make it easy. As a disabled, elderly member, I find that their email deposit does not work. The branch nearest to my house burned down and they keep telling me it will reopen - but then admit that work has not been done. Because I am disabled, it is difficult for me to get to another branch - so I need the email deposit to work for me. I made four phone calls today and they said it just didn't seem to work and I'd have to come in. That is too hard for me. I bounced four checks last month because I couldn't get in - and the teller was nasty to me when I finally showed up. That is $122 dollars I paid needlessly. So I am thinking this isn't working out for me. They say just use any ATM that has the star logo - but it doesn't work. I thought I found a place to make deposits - but I got a call from the business and they said no - you cannot make a deposit here. When I reported this to the credit union, they furrowed their brow and said "It should work." As if I didn't get a phone call saying it will NOT work. I have been there before where the line was a two-hour wait. Surely I can find something better. I can really do better than a teller giving me sass about being overdrawn as I was trying to make a deposit - after being TOO SICK to come in and make a deposit and their e-deposit not working - even after I made countless phone calls. They act like it's all my fault that they are not meeting customer needs.

A few weeks ago I, as a customer since 2011, for over a decade, would've given them a stellar rating, 5 stars. With a Super Rewards account, which I have, if you do a certain level of business on your card and have auto-deposit, you get a $35 or more monthly return fee every month, very nice, I got back from them more in 6 months than I did from Wells-Fargo after 10 years or more. However, beware if you've ever been scammed, even for a small amount, by some sleazy vendor. They evidently have NO staff and will make no investigation or effort if you file a credit card dispute. I was ripped off by a scam company, "Pet Screening Inc." which my new landlord in Minnesota asked me to use to prove my cat's vaccinations were current last year when I moved here. This scam-corp refused to let me un-enroll when I no longer needed their services (it was literally impossible on their website), so I sent an email the day prior to the auto-renew saying I didn't want to continue and please cancel my service. They flatly refused, in rude emails subsequent, claimed my landlord "required" I subscribe with them-- which I know is a lie from talking to my property manager. Anyway, as to Provident, I filed the Card dispute on July 11, after the improper billing on July 10, 2022. No refund, nobody at Provident got back to me. So I called the Provident service # the last Friday of July, 7/29. The first rep falsely stated "Someone will look at it and get back to you"-- untrue 6 days later, as of Aug. 4. So today I called, the first rep, Eric, offered to connect me to them. After a bit he got back to me and admitted, "Nobody's answering there," and "It's a small department, they're difficult to get in contact with" (paraphrasing). They could've asked me earlier for my email cancelling before renewal, they never bothered. I could also share "Pet Screening"s 1.3 rating on the Better Business Bureau website, with roughly 4 dozen recent complaints of this kind of scam (charging for deceased pets, or at addresses no longer occupied.) Anyway, Provident doesn't care and isn't helping or communicating with me. It's worth paying for an AmEx card; with that if I do a dispute once every 2 or 3 years I always get a refund!!
