It all started so well. Two years ago my car had a vibration under acceleration. F&P replaced the center support bearing and flex coupling, and it mostly, but not completely went away. I found myself back in the bay area with a car that was vibrating again 15k later. So, I took it back only to be charged nearly $200 for the "diagnostic" before being told that "we don't work on transmissions or drivetrains." Maybe you could have told me that before I dropped it off? It turns out that the initial diagnosis and repair was likely incorrect - the culprit had been worn driveshaft U-joints. So, I've got a new driveshaft courtesy of German Autosport (highly recommended), and in the meantime F&P made off with the initial $700 in addition to the "diagnostic." They're really friendly when they take your money, though!

What a wonderful business! I took a car I was thinking of buying into to them to check it out, and had a truly excellent experience. Their rates were fair, and Joe took a lot of time to sit and counsel me about that particular car and other cars I was considering. Ive used Fritz and Peters for various automotive work on my 1990 VW Vanagon and have been impressed at their professionalism and quick turnaround. From diagnosing a transmission issue, A/C recharge, to bumper install theyve handled everything perfectly. Im surprised at how quick they can fit me in same week or next week via phone appointment where many specialty shops usually have a minimum of 5 week lead time for work on these vans.
